Dr. Sen and Dr.
Costantino were featured in Discovery Network's TLC
(The Learning Channel) special "Amazing
Medical Stories". Part of this special depicted
a patient's dramatic surgery to remove a life threatening
tumor at the base of her brain. This non-cancerous tumor
was going to effect her eyesight and mobilty, as well as
be fatal. Dr. Costantino had to disassemble part of her face
to create a large enough pathway through her mouth to allow
Dr. Sen to successfully the remove the brain tumor.
Since all of this life saving surgery was done through the patient's
mouth, there are no scars on her face. The result is that she can return
to living a normal life, with complete functionality.
